COMING BACK
Coming home to your self under favourable conditions that are dedicated to your dynamic equilibrium is one thing.
Returning thereafter to your place in the world, under conditions dedicated to your socialisation is another.
HOW TO REINTEGRATE, so that you come home as your actual self, wisely able to express inter-dependent equilibrium, despite the challenges of “hurry sickness” and superimposed role plays?
Homecoming happens every Panchakarma in India every year—a real, measurable process of re-cognition, of remembrance.
To support the reintegration into the world at large, wherever you are, here are some promised BASICS, relevant to most of us in most situations.
Focus is on Ayurveda’s “Three Pillars of Life”: Food, Sleep, Sexuality
By doing what it takes, attainment can be this SIMPLE:
—Abhyanga (meaning neurophysiological negation of fear), a self massage with warmed, herbalised oils as recommended by your Ayurvedic practitioner three times weekly, if not daily
—Early to sleep, early to rise
—Eating mindfully, slowly with awareness of smells, tastes, colours, textures, sounds
—Finish eating before feeling full
—If not actually hungry, don’t eat
—Drink water before eating meals to prevent gaining excess weight, but not during or immediately after (which will help you gain weight)
—Eat at regulated times, meaning don’t suppress natural hunger or indulge unnatural cravings
—Walk 100 steps after eating
—Eat last meal before sunset, or a light, easily digestible dinner a couple of hours before sleep
—Screens off before sunset
—Do not habitually and forcibly suppress natural and therefore real urges to defacate, urinate, fart, sneeze, drink, eat, sleep, cough, pant, yawn, cry, vomit, ejaculate
—Prevent stress overload with a 30 minute or so Yoga Nidra, or a power nap between 2-6 PM
—Address stress by inhaling deeply into the belly through nose and exhaling through mouth with sound vibration in the vocal chords for up to 3-9 breaths
—Appease and regulate stress levels with relaxed awareness of natural breath through the day
—Exercise daily according to condition and season
—Meditate/pray daily same time same place according to condition and constitution
—Journal to process raw experiences into refined self-knowledge
