ARRIVING
Arriving, my mind goes to the ones who were here first — the wild and dedicated reclaimers and caretakers of the land: Netherlands. In discussion with Willem Fonteijn my gracious host and co-teacher, I came to know more of the spirit of collaboration and tolerance that can define leaders who have emerged from these regions. More of the Fresian, Saxon, Frank, Viking, Germanic interactions. More of the roughness, political bent, mental disposition and conquering edge of the preceptors of the Dutch Empire.
More of the origin of renowned shipbuilding and the rigorous spirit of architectural integrity. More of the lands drained and raised from the sea. More of what’s newly planted and what’s ancient. More of what remains of the raw, untouched nature. More of the fringe of dunes along the water’s edge. More of the freedoms that Sultana, Willem’s beloved described that she felt supported in nurturing here.
At this remarkable, ripened community sanctuary called Venwoude, I came to know more. More of how different and alike we humans are as we are bound to come together.
Over and over in shifting temperaments of our one circle, we met this weekend: a circle of clinical psychologists, doctors, therapists, politicians, psychics, spiritual teachers, hard core sadhakas. Our different colors, cultures, context, calling and capacity laid way for a multifaceted approach to the one reality we are today more and more naturally attuned to, whether with “left or right” brain. A singular, vibratory radiance of awareness dawning for the participating observer sitting in the heart of “paradox”, as discomfitting as it may appear at first.
Pranam and thank you to Willem, Sultana, Mateo, Nick and all of the circle. What we stirred and raised circulates still.
