GODHEAD, INDIA 2019
Drawn out. Clear as day. Every day. In decisive, immutable strokes—godhead is ours to acclaim if not reclaim.
Identifying with and reintegrating into the “supreme godhead” is part and parcel of meaningful existence in India and for adherents of Indian Yogic sciences worldwide.
—The processes of traditional Yoga as revealed by one’s own chosen master, are the technological means of harnessing the force to aim for and stabilise this identification.
—The embodied Kundalini re-awakening processes of traditional Tantra, as initiated by one’s own chosen tantric guru, are the alchemical means of graduated recalibration for this reintegration.
—Ayurveda, experienced through classical Panchakarma as guided by one’s own chosen doctor and specialists, can be the medicinal means for atomic (panchabhautika) purification, rejuvenation and protection of the gross and subtle instrumentation of any and all the above processes of identification and reintegration.
As I write the word godhead and contemplate the ascent, I pause to consider the “counter-dominant” strategies such as the “Tall Poppy Syndrome” or the “Jante Law” to name two engrained egalitarian movements in the Westernised world—in short, “you are equal to others, but you are not better or higher.” Such a way of thinking has tended to inculcate great distrust of those recalculating the handicaps of a one-size-fits-all policy. Such a way of being has tended to precipitate a distaste for those defining the risks of swelling in self-aroused contentment to thrive interdependently in plain sight.
Godhead, like the linga (the ”sign”) pictured here, exists to indicate or point to formless, uncaused pure consciousness (Shiva). Consciousness pervades as itself inhering to the uncaused yet emergent causative godliness of the power of its nature (Prakriti).
Having been cosmically patterned by nature and her inviolable laws, we are all subject to the probability of intoxication on godhood, whilst dissolving in any pool of godness that overflows to permeate all forms ordered of itself as itself.
Until that reintegration, or sacrifice of multiplicity into embodied singularity as effected naturally through the Kundalini spiritualisation or divinisation processes, it behooves us to discern the trajectory and purpose of our inborn attributes, so that we can better assimilate what it is that has naturally set us apart, before quenching the thirst for confluence at the undifferentiated source.
